This past Martin Luther King day students and teachers met at Thruway Lanes for the annual CCHS bowling tournament. 20 teams, each consisting of three students and one teacher, bowled against each other in an effort to see who would win these bowling feats of strenght. The lanes were packed with people.   Laughter, the whirl of the ball down the lanes, and the crash of pins at the lane’s end echoed throughout the alley.   The day was organized  by Mr. Kaplan.

The world we live in can be harsh, cold and can make you feel completely alone, especially in times of need. People take for granted everything we live with, everything we have. Somewhere else in our world others are in need of a better life and more opportunities.

Whenever a book is turned into a movie, the movie can almost never be expected to surpass the book. This theory is of course disproved by a few classics and can doubtlessly be proved wrong by an individual’s personal opinion. However, I do believe this theory to be true in the case of John Steinbeck’s classic Of Mice and Men.
Throughout this timeless novella many issues are brought to justice in a way that seems undoubtedly nonconformist for the time period which it was written in. …
