Demontra High Chapater One part Two

2 June 2010 No Comment

RINGGGGG Thank the gods its the bell thought Miyako, as she was saying thanks Headmistress Dawn Spire walked into the room. The headmistress had had to be one of the most beautiful vampires Miyako had ever seen. She was tall, almost six foot, with platinum blond hair and the body of a model you would never had guessed she was almost 400 years old! But she was, she was also she was one of the only reasons Miyako had decided to even go back to school. Her and a few other professors came to her house personally to help her parents convince her to come back to Demontra after weeks and weeks of nagging, she finally agreed.

“Welcome my little creatures of the night to a new year of learning and self awareness, I am happy to see some faces that I have known since you all have been in kinder garden, along side some faces that I am just seeing to day. To all of you I say welcome to a new school I hope that you feel at home here, especially considering you’ll be living here for the rest of this school years.” she said with a grin “I hope that this new year will be a year of new discoveries, that with this passing year, you will become older, more responsible creatures”.

The way she spoke, inspiring all the students in the common room to try to do their best. Miyako could see the effect she was having on them, the look in their eyes so adoring. They all loved her so much, but she knew better. To admire someone so much is only setting yourself up to be disappointed, like she was before. Memories of the past came rushing into her mind, she fought to block them out, knowing that if she let herself remember she would break down crying, in her effort she missed the rest of the speech. The applause breaking her concentration, she caw Headmistress leaving the room and professors handing out schedules to everyone around her, as soon as the students got their schedules the headed off what Miyako assumed to be their homerooms, or maybe it was 1st period. Next thing she knew it was her turn she was handed her schedule by Professor McTeal, who taught students in her grade.

“Hello Ms. Griffin” she said smiling warmly “glad to have to you back with us.” and with that she walked away. Miyako looked at her schedule

It seemed simple enough, all but the last two periods, she looked in her bag for her phone What time is it? she wondered 8:25. Great! she thought as she ran for homeroom. About half way through the Quad she felt it, that shiver down her spine she often got before she left the academy. Someone was watching her, she froze to look around “Of course people are looking at me,” she thought “I’m supposed to be crazy remember?” but that wasn’t it. She turned around to see if she could pinpoint the feeling, and that’s when she saw him, those emerald green eyes that threatened to break her soul. Those eyes, the eyes of the one person who she was willing to give her life to, those eyes that were filled with so much sorrow. She felt a tear at her heart and the need to throw up, his pain was her pain and it made her sick to see him suffering so much. All of a sudden she was filled with the over powering need to run to him, comfort him, make things better somehow anything to make him happy. It was too much seeing him there, she needed to get away immediately, so she ran, she ran for her next class and for her sanity. “Miyako wait!” but it was too late, she was already gone.

Literature studies never seemed so heavenly to Miyako, well it did, but not as heavenly as it felt right now. She looked around the class room to see who else was in it. No one special seemed to catch her eye, all kids who she either never bothered to talk to before or people who she did talk to but wouldn’t be caught dead talking to her now. Great she thought I hope we don’t have to do any group projects anytime soon……or ever for that matter. She made her way to the middle row, the middle seemed safe close enough to see the board far enough to not seem like a nerd. As a bonus it was far for all the kids who would gladly try to rip her to shreds if they got the chance. She looked at the clock, 8:30, the bell should be ringing riiight RINGGG, now. With that 5 more students and a teacher made their way in to the class, the teacher being Professor Jane M. Beluga Marissa favorite teacher since she was a freshman.

“Settle down class, settle down” she said as she made her way to the front catching Miyako’s eye for a second. “Now most of you in this class are either juniors or seniors, maybe even a few sophomores so I’m not going to waste time on the same welcome back speech you hear from ever other teacher, every year . Instead I’m going to get straight to the point, who did their summer reading?”. WHAT?!?!? I knew nothing of this summer reading Miyako thought as all the hands went up around her. Oh man oh man oh man oh man what am I gonna do? Just as that thought entered Miyako’s head Professor Beluga whispered in her ear “I know you didn’t do the assignment, it’s ok just make sure you get it to me by the end of this week” and with that she walked away. Marissa breathed a sigh of relief, she was going to need to make a mad dash across campus to see what other summer assignments she had missed.

The next few periods of the day went on uneventfully as Miyako found out that she had only missed one other reading assignment for International Studies. Uneventful and un-fun, just the way she wanted her day to be until lunch, time to do the table dance she thought. Miyako ran to the dining hall trying to make sure she could get a table to herself. Looking around she saw that she was in luck not that many people had arrived and she had her picking of table. Phew she breathed a sigh of relief knowing no one who would mess with her there and she went to get her lunch, if it could be called that. Walking into the lunch line she noticed that in the time that she had been gone, the food did not improve it still looked like it was ready to jump out and eat you instead of it being the other way around. She decided on a slice of four cheese pizza and a side of salad and some juice. She went to sit down and for a while everything was fine, that was, until she heard footsteps approaching her she did her best to ignore them, she didn’t have to look up to know who was coming at her.

“Awww poor little Yako sitting awone with no one to talk to” Remy said in a baby voice. “Miya its OK if you don’t have friends, you could always go and eat lunch in the bathroom” she said laughing. This girl gets too much joy from messing with me she thought and then Why would anyone eat in the bathroom? That’s disgusting! she looked up at Remy. Of course Tienn and Sara were with her, along with some girl Remy had never seen in her life, she dismissed it thinking she was just a new girl Probably some poor freshman who wants to be popular. Returning to her book Miyako noticed that Remy was still talking, or rather yelling. “DO YOU HEAR ME? IT’S NOT NICE TO IGNORE PEOPLE MIYAKO” it may not be nice but its much easier than actually talking to someone who only heard what she wanted to hear. And that’s when she felt it, the cold, lumpy substance that was now all over her hair, face and down her shirt. ”Are you going to listen now, Rissy?” Sara asked which was out of her character, Remy usually said those thing. It took a minute to process what was happening, one moment she was sitting down covered in what may have been cream cheese, the next she was on top of Remy. She was about to deliver another blow to the face when she stopped herself and for the second time that day, she ran.
